Home for Sale!

So the end of October has been a crazy life changer.  Our neighbors put their home up for sale in the spring.  We had been debating whether to move to a larger home, build a new home, add on to our existing home, or just keep going as we were.  It was a never ending circle that had gone on for years.  When the house next door went up for sale we decided to take a look.  It was nice, and had nearly everything we were looking for, but we just knew it wasn't right.  So time went on. Then the Sunday before Halloween I was passing the neighbor in the hall at church.  I asked how things were going.  I told her we still occasionally think about their house.  Later that night we got a call from her husband. They had just not had a lot of interest and really needed their house to sale.  Because we had gone through their house when it was for sale by owner, we could buy their house at a price lower than the price they had dropped it to with their realtor, because we were considered an exclusion to their contract.  This was a game changer for us.  It pretty much put the price into a good price range for us.  We walked through the house on Wednesday and were under contract by Saturday.  It was crazy!  We planned to close just after the New Year, so we felt a lot of pressure to get our house on the market quick.  We did some dejunking, cleaning, paid some cleaning ladies to come help, paid someone to help fix up the yard (it seems any summer with a baby means the yard gets somewhat neglected), and within a week's time had our house up for sale.  It was a really weird feeling to put that sign up in our yard.  Let the adventure begin.  We love this house and will miss it, but we are so excited to move into our new house!!
