ouCH!

Me and my kids burn easy. Don't believe me? Here is a great example.

A babysitter was being awesome and playing with the kids in the sprinklers outside. She even thought of sunscreen. Unfortunately she only found the stick kind. I have now shown the kids where I keep our sunscreen.

I Wonder...

Read the picture. Enough said.

Well actually, I'll give you a rundown:

Ragnar. Wasatch Back. 188 miles. 12 people.

Thats the quick version. So this last weekend I ran Ragnar, a race that goes from Logan to Park City. Twelve people run specified legs rotating through each runner 3 times. It is crazy. It is hard. We run over peaks of mountains, and everywhere else in between. There isn't much time for sleep. So basically you eat, run, drive, and maybe get a tiny bit of sleep in there. I think I got maybe an hour of sleep when we laid down at about 5 am for a small break before our last round. Oh, fun! Actually we had a lot of fun. I am super tired now. A little sore. I can't hardly think straight, so if this blog post doesn't make sense, that is why.

Our team name was Wonder Women, and someone had the fun idea of our little catch phrase. I love it! I still haven't gotten copies of other peoples pictures, but here is what I have.

Here is Van 1 the night before the race. The front of our shirts say: I wonder...
and the backs say: What was this woman thinking?

Most teams decorate their cars, and I think ours turned out so great. We had one person who came up with this idea, and she did so great!! We had lots of people taking pictures of our car. It was great!

I accidentally put my miles/min as 9 minutes. Back in January I thought it would be so easy to get down to even 8 miles/min. I did run under 10 miles/min for the race and I feel pretty good about that.

Here is our seriously awesome Chloe (on the left), getting a kill (passing a runner). She ran a total of 21 miles. Practically a marathon. I am so glad she ran it for us!!

Here I am finishing my first leg. 6.7 Miles. About 4 miles in there was a pretty mean hill. I felt like it couldn't do it, but once I got to the top it was down hill for 2 more miles and I made it! I was so, so tired.

Look at the awesome woman. I am still on my feet. I know... I'm amazing. =)

Marilyn... She can run, and run, and run. Amazing!

Amy, Liz, and Chloe
Amy is ready to go!!

The exchange.

This is another Amy. She is so amazing. Even with an injury that made even walking painful, she ran with a smile... and she ran some crazy long hills.

Another amazing women... Elizabeth. Wonder Woman!! She had some of our toughest legs, but she did it!!

Here is some of the team while we wait to begin our last round of runs. We are tired, but pumped at the same time.

We are done!! (Van 1, that is. Van 2 still has some hard stuff ahead.)

Wonder Women at the finish line! We are Wonderful!!

Me and Amy. We were training buds all along. I don't think either of us would have made it without the other! Wahoo... we did it!

I am so glad the family made it up to see the finish. Of course because of a potty run, all the boys missed it after waiting for hours for us to come in... *sigh* That seems to be the way it is with little kids. Potty breaks at the worst time possible.

***By the way, I just found out that we placed 79 out of the 127 women only teams, and 58 out of 99 teams in our division.***

Ben

This is my brother Ben. He is such a neat kid (guy, person, brother, boy... whatever you want to say). I can't believe he is already graduated!! It seems he should still be the 7 year old boy he was when I left for college, or the 9 year old boy when I was married. He was my little buddy who would do anything for me and give me anything if I asked for it. Now, 9 years later he is graduated and off to college in a few weeks. He is the best brother anyone could have, and the greatest uncle any child could have. He plays with them, loves them and they adore him! He is someone they all look up to and want to be like him. My kids love to pray for him as he prepares for his mission, and they will love to hear of all his experiences he has and be excited for when they get to go on their missions. What a great example! Every kid should have an Uncle Ben.

We have some great swimmers here at our house. And did you check out the stylin' goggles. The boys are so excited to have their very first goggles.
