We celebrated by beginning the day with Lucky Charms and Fruity Pebbles for breakfast. Then a little later we headed off to see the BYU vs. Wyoming basketball game. The boys had never been to a basketball game before. We had some free tickets, and Dylan thought it would be fun to do that for his birthday, so that is just what we did. It was a lot of fun, and the boys really enjoyed it. They also really enjoyed the popcorn, licorice, and sour patch kids, too.
Later, we had a fun Star Wars party at our house, with just our own little family and Grandma Gibson. Dylan got spoiled with a Star Wars t-shirt, lots of Star Wars toys, a game of checkers/chess, new snorkel gear (from Grandma - replacing his beloved set that broke last year), and a game from Grandma Kirk.
Dylan posed the figures for the top of his cake.
I bought some trick candles, and dad put all 8 of them on his cake. Dylan couldn't figure out why the candles kept relighting. Ethan tried to help him to, and eventually Mom and Dad. Not even Dad could get them out by pinching them with a bit of spit. We had to get some water and dunk them to finally finish them off.

I love that last picture of him. He looks so confused looking at the cake/candles. Lol.
